Part-time Opportunities

Just Health 510 welcomes all hygienists, assistants, and general/ specialty dentists to be a part of our community. We look for like-minded individuals who have a desire to serve. Please contact us for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

The need is great and together we are better. Regardless of your background or expertise, you can help! Opportunities are limitless, so contribute to our cause and contact us for more information.

Existing Partnerships

We work closely with our sister clinic, the Berkeley Free Clinic, which likewise serves the Bay Area underserved. In areas where the Berkeley Free Clinic cannot provide dental care or instances where the clinic is not able to operate as normal (like Covid-19), Just Health 510 is committed to seeing their patients. The Berkeley Free Clinic also helps offset the costs for some of their patients’ services.

Potential Partnerships

We are always looking to form alliances and collaborate with diverse groups. If you are interested in sharing ideas or starting a new project, please reach out.

Navigating Access to Care Internship

(The application cycle is currently closed. Please return with your interest.)

Spearheaded by the former Dental Director of the iconic Berkeley Free Clinic and spotlighted by the American Dental Association and the University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Just Health 510 is a young non-profit that aims to empower people every day to live a happy and healthy life by providing complete oral care, regardless of ability to pay. The clinic serves immigrants, military veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and other low-income individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.

With support from the Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Program and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Just Health 510 is seeking passionate, driven individuals interested in joining its Navigating Access to Care (NAC) program—a wraparound service system launched in January 2019 that streamlines patient access to other high-quality healthcare, public benefits, financial resources, and social services in the East Bay. Under the direction of the NAC Coordinators, interns help patients enroll in healthcare coverage and provide eligibility screenings, referrals, and navigation services. We emphasize connecting individuals to programs that increase access to healthy foods, housing rights trainings, and cell phone, internet, and utility bill support. Interns will have the opportunity to become certified enrollment counselors and may work alongside staff members to conduct off-site health insurance eligibility screening and enrollment workshops. Interns may also assist the Clinical Operations Director to ensure efficient flow of clinic operations.

Interns can expect to walk away from this experience with a greater understanding of the health needs of the underserved, the landscape of resources that can support a patient’s health, and the unique challenges and opportunities of running a young non-profit organization. Outstanding interns will be eligible for a recommendation letter for graduate school admissions.
